What Your Parents Teach You.. x_x

As I was looking for something on the net, basically, it's information about something that I intend for a post. But then, I came across this website that not only had given me ideas or the information that I need but also some "things" that caught my interests (well, I was kind of sleepy that time that's why I went for the catch...lol). The part of that website which I went over and found myself quite amused, was the "humor" section. I went through it and found jokes which I still havent read nor heard of so it was really fun.

I found something that really kept me smiling. I just couldnt think how in the world did the "composer" of that article was able to think of those things?!.. I mean, well, some things there might be obvious for us to realize but really, it's just so amazing how our mind could work. I took some parts of that article so that you may be able to see what I was referring to.

You can also go to the website to view the entire article or list and other sections too. (Jut click the "link"..hehehehe! x_x)

Here are some of the things that i want to share with you about that article.

*note: The article was referring to the things that his/her parents "taught" him/her ^_^

Excerpt of the article or lines that I really found so amusing:

1.My Mother & Father taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE.

"If you're going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning."

2.My mother & father taught me MORE LOGIC.

"If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me."

3.My mother & father taught me FORESIGHT.

"Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."

4.My mother & father taught me IRONY

"Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about."

5.My mother & father taught me about the science of OSMOSIS.

"Shut your mouth and eat your supper."

6.My mother & father taught me about CONTORTIONISM.

"Will you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!"

07.My mother & father taught me about STAMINA.

"You'll sit there until all that spinach is gone."

08.My mother & father taught me the CIRCLE OF LIFE.

"We brought you into this world, and we can take you out."

09.My mother & father taught me about ENVY.

"There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do."

10.My mother & father taught me HUMOR.

"When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me."

11.My mother taught me WISDOM.

"When you get to be my age, you'll understand."

12. And my favorite:My mother taught me about JUSTICE.

"One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you!"

Well, for me, what our parents teach us are really what's best for us..most of the time...hehe! They may tell us things that we dont like or we think we dont deserve...but no parents would want their children to be harmed because most of the casualties will be felt by themselves. And if ever your parents would tell you things you think or really see as inappropriate or not right, you can somehow tell them. I think they're open for the thought that they too could be wrong and sometimes they should listen to you.

Thats why open communication is an essential tool in the household. It will be okay not to have a microwave oven in your house or the slickest refrigerator or entertainment set. But not to have an open communication, trust, respect, love and understanding for each other may mean destruction not only of the "house" but more importantly, your whole "home". Cherish everything that you have right now and heed what your parents teach you. I think you are mature enough to take things into consideration. ^_^

Anime/Manga 101

To understand the history of anime or what it is really about, one must know what manga or Japanese comics is. One of the most difficult things for western audiences to understand is that anime and manga are not designed strictly for children in Japan. In the western world, comics have only been around for a comparatively short period of time and have been almost exclusively marketed toward young people. In Japan, however, artists have been telling stories through the use of drawings for several centuries, so its appeal is much more widespread as the average Japanese person views comics and animation as just another way to tell a story without an age stigma attached to it.

Tezuka picHistorians and knowledgeable fans alike agree that Osamu Tezuka was the precursor to both manga and anime, and there's definitely good reasoning and evidence behind it. He was heavily influenced by the early animation of Disney and the Flesicher Brothers in the West. It was his early love for animation that brought about the introduction and growth of both anime and manga.

He was the first to come out with a novel-length drawn story (titled "Shintakarajima", or "New Treasure Island") in 1947, the very first well-known "tankoubon" or "graphic novel" as the West calls them. In 1963, he was the first to produce an internationally successful animation series in "Testuwan Atom", or, as we know it, "Astro Boy". Along with Toei Animation (which Tezuka had worked with as a character designer), Tezuka's Mushi Productions was among the first in Japanese animation studios.

Anime (アニメ) is an abbreviation of the English word "animation" originating in Japan through the roots of manga. Although the term is used in Japan to refer to animation in general, in English usage the term most popularly refers to material originating from Japan, a subset of animation.

Anime is traditionally hand drawn, but computer-assisted techniques have become quite common in recent years. It is used in television series, films, video, video games and Internet-based releases, and represents all genres of fiction.

While available throughout the beginning of the 20th century, manga (japanese for "Comics" or "Whimsical images") was not a very popular medium until after World War II. Beginning in the 50's, manga, followed by anime, became very popular ways for artists and writers to deal with the devastation of the war in a new way. From this point on, manga and anime became an important part of Japanese society.

Manga is generally read by adult commuters on their way to and from work. It is a cheap and relaxing entertainment for most people who read it. Most of the manga is published weekly as large collections, usually in black and white. The high volume of published manga generally means that the artists have to work exceptionally hard to produce enough material each week, sometimes as much as sixteen or more pages each day.

Manga and anime is read and enjoyed by men, women, boys and girls across Japan. And nowadays, the unstoppable growth of anime and manga is already widespread and one who doesnt know anything about it or neverheard of it must have been buried in a deep pit for a very long time (c'mon?!..even aliens are aware of it dude!..wake up!..lol) There are a wide variety of storylines to appeal to a huge variety of readers. Everything from complex social issues, the future, humanity, and fun topics are found in the pages of manga and on the screens with anime.

Today, Japanese Animation (anime) is a recognized media and viewed by many as the top alternative to traditional "cartoons" of the West. As anime expands to non-Japanese markets such as the United States and Europe, the cycle of cultural influence inevitably extends into these markets. Thus, some Western animation companies have produced works of some anime resemblance.

The Animatrix, series from the Nickelodeon "Avatar: The Last Airbender and other animated series such as the Teen Titans and Powerpuff Girls were influenced by anime. These animated series were not considered anime but thy do show some characteristics found in a typical anime series.

Now that I've come to introduce you the basics of what anime is, maybe you have come to realize why is it making such a big bang in the world of so many fanatics. It is because animation itself is the living of what truly is inside our hearts. It is giving life to our fantasies and "impossible dreams". The perfection of the physical appearances of the characters and the strong nature that they always portray are those that's motivating us to do exactly what we ought to do. Believe it or not, but anime do inspires. The childish nature in each of us is what's keeping all these stuff kicking alive. whether you like it or not, you have to feed that childish appetite of yours be it with anime or just plain cartoons and the like.

Anime Madnezz

I have made several posts for this blog but then I suddenly realized that I forgot to post about certain things that I really would love to share. My favorites, obssessions and the like. And more importantly, things about God. hehe..I am not really that "santa" or should I say....I am never a santa...lol...but then, I really do believe that there's that God who really exist and other things related to that...Anyway, enough of that right now because that will not be my topic for this post.

What's it gonna be?..Oh well, nothing interesting...just some thing called "Anime"... weeeee... :D

Anime. What's so fuzy about this stuff? Why is it that more and more are being enticed to this "magical" world of anime? If you think that anime are for kids...well, think again...It is most likely that anime are for young adults, teens and even "adults" drown themselves with all or most of the fascinating things concerning anime. In fact, adults are the ones who really spend a lot when it comes to having the latest craze in anime...Or maybe it's because anime had been way established that "teens of the pasts" have grown and beoame "adults of the future"..who are still "addicted" to anime.

Honestly, I am one of them. I just find anime so cool whatever other "mature" people would say. My mom would always scold me telling me that it's not one thing that a "girl" should indulge with. Yeah, I am a girl. As they may see it...lol..nevermind.

Anyway, there had been so many issues regarding this fast-spreading and immortal topic - the ANIME. Word-of-mouth is not just the one that keeps it alive just like any other tv shows. Its artistic presentation (colorful wardrobes, impossible characters, twisted storylines, indescribable settings and many more) is the real catch. People or teens/young adults perhaps, just love to fantasized and dream on. Either to amuse themselves or merely to escape this world full of crap. But nevertheless, anime really can take off your troubles away. Maybe there are some times that if you're too addicted with anime, you'd feel more 'wanting" if the episodes are still not up rolling..(juts like me..so pissed when it takes so long to have the upcoming episodes being aired or for the latest manga episodes to be read...:D). I think this also goes with other stuffs that we tend to anticipate. ;)

I have read from so many forums and other websites certain discussions about "anime versus cartoons", "people watching anime dont have a life, immature, hopeless, etc." that are just so endless and keeps on bugging the "anime society". People would fight and curse each other just to defend their side. But for me, there's nothing to argue with. Just mind you own business. If you like cartoons better than anime or vice versa, so be it. Just patronize what you like without spitting unto the likes of others or those who dont like what you like...(kewl?!..yeah!...lol)

"Do unto others what you want others would do unto you." :D
(that's my way of being...a ninja?..lol...just my way of being fair and respectful.. :P)

(additional and more informative post about anime will come just its way...when's it gonna be?..hmmm..that I am not sure of...lol...dont worry..it wont take me a month or so to post again..hopefully...hahahaahah :P)

In Sickness...and In Health... x_x

Aargh!...Sick?..Again?..oh C'mon!

This past two weeks had been a nightmare for me.
I cant totally focus with my work since I was suffering from different types of "disturbances".
Those that I really hate to have or experience. Am I being tested?..Holy Crap!..tsk3!

When I was still working on a nightshift, I barely made absences or never did, if the reason was just "sickness". I had always been able to manage myself even if I feel a little bit sick. Nothing had ever stopped me to go to work..when I was still on that shift. Many people had even noticed that I "ballooned" during nightshift... They said my body system favors the nocturnal effect.

Well, thats something I'm not really sure of whether I'm supposed to be happy hearing that.
I didnt have a "quality" sleep during the day when I was suppose to because it is really tiring working during nightshift. And although I cant sleep at the office during our break or I barely slept in the office during work hours and still can manage, I know its not good especially to my health.

For me, that "ballooning effect" was somehow brought about by stress or fatigue, as I was able to read from a health news/article. It's also like when people eat when they're depressed. It's either I also have eaten too much (Binging on "low-quality or inappropriate" foods) during nightshift or I slept too much to avoid getting sleepy at work. Either ways, being on a nightshift is no longer my problem since I got the chance to transfer back to the dayshift (just the time when I had lose the excitement of transferring..tsk!).

My first two weeks, as I have said were just so disastrous. Toothache!...waaaaa!...I'd rather have flu. Or anything except toothache!...whoah@!

It had always been my problem..having such "not that strong" set of teeth. Although Dentists would tell me that I have a very good tooth formation or alignment, still, cavities could just work out in ways we never think it could.

And thats just killing me... It's as if all the weight of the world is over me...Feeling all its burdens..pfft! I just cant take so much of the pain anymore. And sometimes, from all the pain that I was able to encounter because of this toothache, I started to feel numb and medicines can no longer ease the pain. Imagine having to induce all that "head-wrecking" pain!

Aside from that, due to the very cold atmosphere in the office..or maybe just to where my workstation is located, my toothache had its sidekick!..Another driving force towards destructive pain..waaaaaaa! I am not really prone to coldness. I might die..huhuhu..just cant stand any coldness that's way beyond what my natural temp. could withstand. i am more of a 'heat" or warmness person.. I'd prefer to feel hot...lol...nevermind..hahaha

With all the abnormalities I feel concerning temperature, I system started to react and then again, revived the "sickness mode" thats way deeply buried inside of me. I now have a flu!...Great!..Just what more can i ask for?..lol

Severe cough..with sticky phlegm irritating my throat that also makes my chest and back ache, running nose/colds...arrrgh....haaaayz!...And with all the medz I'm taking..I just cant help but drown myself in a slumber effect...Drowsiness and uneasiness makes me irritated and out of mood to work effectively..

I just keep thinking of my bed...wohooo!..And although I've had several absences, Ouch! I just wish to take a vacation...oh my...tsk3!...if only...

Even if I am sick, I still prefere "self-medication" through water therapy...and of course, rest rest rest...if possible...but my very concerned mom keet on insisting that I go to a clinic and let the doctors check my condition. I really had a hard time arguing with her that I need not to...reason: I am "allergic" to hospitals or clinic, it's costly and I dont want to be late or make absences..anymore. :D

But then, I realized, that if somethings may just get worst, it would even cost me much...so I just agreed, with a less heart...lol

Fortunately, there was nothing to worry with my lungs nor with my blood. Wohoo! But I have to take some "more" medications" to really make it all go away..And the most exciting yet terrifying part for me...is...the tooth extraction...OMG!..not again? I dont have much teeth left...waaaaaaaaaaa...lol

Oh well...i just made this post to "kill the time" and put out my "ill" feelings.. As Mark B. had said unto me.."just post anything, especially something that have connections to your feelings..just pour it out..and Im sure you'll feel good.."..weeee!

"Frank"ly Speaking....

It's been so long since I made a post for this blog.. Whew!...

And this "comeback" post is some sort of a reminiscing act... lol

This happening is something that I am not happy to remember. But I will be sharing this to you as I have learned a lot from this experience and I hope that you will, too. This event was some kind of an "eye-opener" or life and even soul for the most. If people involved in this experience werent able to get anything essential from all that happened, well..Good Luck!..lol

Having to think back again what happened to me and my family and other people during the time that the typhoon "frank" raided our locality or the whole Panay Island, is really something that could break my heart making me wish or pray that somehow, hopefully, it wont happen again... :(

It's been...a month or so (forgot about the date...I am not really good at remembering those :P) since "Frank" striked Philippines-Western Visayas-Panay Island-Iloilo City. But traces of its life-wrecking impacts can still be seen in some parts of the greatly hit places. Although some places have been cleaned, muds removed and damages (from the properties, etc.) have been trashed or made use again if need be, still, the smell of the burden and worry in people's lives are just too much to handle. Many people are still staying in some evacuation centers. Most of the residential properties have been damaged and for the worst have been totally ripped off. Many baranggay from the provinces have been wiped or flashed out of the scene changing most of the geographical features of those places. :( Just imagine how many people have been flushed away by the flood together with their houses. Many people died since this typhoon was not really taken seriously. Especially in our place, Jaro, where people never anticipated that "that kind of tragedy" will occur. But who knows? No one. Nobody could ever predict what's to happen.

The typhoon brought about a terrifying flash flood. Something that had made the great impacts in our lives. Our locality never had the experience of such flash flood ever. That is why the residents were still confident of not leaving their houses as they never thought such a thing was possible to happen. Why such a nightmare? Well, for me, it's not something that we should be shocked about.

With these days where people are just so annoying taking things for granted especially Mother Nature, any disaster that nature can give us is not that impossible. Global warming, carelessly cutting out trees in the forest with reforestation and the like were just the reasons why that flash flood was triggered. Most of the flood and of course, the nerve-cracking muds were from the forests or mountains from the provinces which had no more or less trees or barriers to hold on to the eroding soil or mudslides.

Imagine having a flash flood were 40% or up was consisted of mud! Many of our clothes, books and other stuffs have been covered with mud especially our house. Well, lucky for us to have minimal damages as compared to other people especially to those who have so many valuable things in their houses (the rich people, that is) that they were not able to save. many thanks to my "girl scout" mom, too. She had always been so prepared. Wohoo! :D But still, we had to leave our house since the water was rising up to the level that people never thought of to have gone that far.

(lawig na bah...lol...cut ko bala anay...sa part2 nlng ang sugpon...haha :P)

(this draft was first written hmm...july 10 sumthing..and edited/updated..hmm...july 25.. :P)

to be continued... :D
